The Barca match today is not a cake, it is a celebration of Barca and Barcelona, the first of its kind in Catalonia, the capital of the Spanish region, according to a team spokesperson.
The match was created in the wake of the Catalan parliament’s decision last week to recognise Catalonia’s independence referendum, which has been called illegal by Spain and Europe.
The team tweeted that they were celebrating the match with Barca’s famous Barca crepe.
The crepe is a classic Barcelona dish and is widely served in the Catalan capital.
The team also said that the crepe will be on display throughout Barcelona until October 11.
The Catalan government has said the referendum will not take place in Catalonia.
